Non-Musical history for today: 1892 – The Pledge of Allegiance is first recited. The first pledge was completely different than what we are to state today. But, in the 1940s, Congress adopted the following? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. What’s missing from that?  The same thing that should be missing today but attorney Louis Albert Bowman added the “under G*d” part and in the 1950s, Congress made that into law.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 8.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
