Non-Musical history for today: 1963 – The Pro Football Hall of Fame opens in Canton, Ohio, with 17 charter members. I met an inductee from 1970, Pete Pihos. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1947-1955. His college playing time at Indiana was interrupted as he was in the Army during WWII. He helped the Eagles win back-to-back championships in 1948 and 1949. He was living in Winston-Salem when he died. I met him at a Food Lion on Hanes Mall Blvd (Pavilion). We talked for about 25-35 minutes. He was a sweet, lonely man. He died in 2011 at the age of 87.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 7.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
