Non-musical history for today: 1837 – Tiffany & Co. (first named Tiffany & Young) was founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and Teddy Young in New York City. The store was called a “stationery and fancy goods emporium.” The Vince Lombardi Trophy (Super Bowl trophy), the Larry O’Brien Trophy (NBA Finals champions), the Commissioner’s Trophy (World Series champions), the USTA championship trophy, the PGA Tour trophy, the MLS trophy… all made by Tiffany & Co. We saw the building when we were in New York last week.
