Non-musical history for today: 1919 – The Cincinnati Reds won the World Series, resulting in the Black Sox Scandal. Shoeless Joe Jackson, Eddie Cicotte, Chick Gandil, Swede Risberg, Buck Weaver, Claude “Lefty” Williams, “Happy” Felsch, and Fred McMullen were all acquitted but they were banned from baseball and subsequently the Baseball Hall of Fame.
