Non-musical history for today: 1916 – Samuel Goldfish and Edgar Selwyn established Goldwyn Pictures. Sam changed his last name to Goldwyn. In 1924, they merged with Metro Pictures and Louis B Meyer Pictures to become Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer or, MGM.
