Non-musical history for today: 1430 – Joan of Arc was captured at the Siege of Compiègne by troops from the Burgundian faction under the direction of Duke Philip III of Burgundy, aka “Philip the Good.” The Burgundians actually lost the siege, but the capture of Jehanne Darc (as she called herself in Middle French) was a major event in the Hundred Years War. She was “found guilty” of heresy and burned at the stake just about a year later. Why do I think of Jane Wiedlin when I think of her? I know the answer, do you? Let me know.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for May 23.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
