Non-Musical history for today: 1643 – Four-year-old Louis XIV became King of France upon the death of his father, Louis XIII. He was known as the Sun King. He didn’t really get to “be” king until Cardinal Mazarin died in 1661. His mom, Anne (going against her deceased husband’s wishes), had the will of Louis XIII annulled and was basically the ruler (with help from her cabinet), setting up ‘Lil Louis for his reign.
