Non-musical history for today: 1951 – Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage. The Rosenbergs were convicted of spying for the Soviet Union, including providing top-secret information about American radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines, and nuclear weapon designs. They were executed via the electric chair. Julius went easily. Ethel took three tries, and it is rumored that smoke came from her head.
