Non-musical history for today: 1893 – The trial of Lizzie Borden for the murder of her father and stepmother began in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Say it with me: “Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.” Lizzie was eventually acquitted, but the case remained a mystery. Also, in reality, her stepmother had suffered (by whoever) about 18 or 19 “whacks.” Her father, only about 11.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for June 5.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
