Non-Musical history for today: 1850 – U.S. President Zachary Taylor died after eating raw fruit and iced milk; he is succeeded in office by Vice President Millard Fillmore. According to The National Constitution Center, he officially (then) died from cholera morbus, and today, the prevalent theory is that Taylor suffered from gastroenteritis, an illness exacerbated by poor sanitary conditions in Washington. Washington is still full of unsanitary crap. Mostly the politicians.
