Non-Musical history for today: 2011 – Space Shuttle Atlantis was launched in the final mission of the U.S. Space Shuttle program. Starting in 1981, the Space Shuttle had 135 missions, of which 133 returned safely. Challenger exploded just after takeoff in 1986. Columbia disintegrated upon re-entry in 2003. Both were probably due to NASA’s determination of higher mission rates over the safety of its crew. Way to go, NASA.
